Gunn is working on a new "Superman"!
Henry Cavill will not return to the role, but he may portray another DC character!
Everyone is talking about one thing these days – Henry Cavill and his Superman. As much as he wanted Cavill to put on the famous red cape again, he is definitely not happy with the decision of the new bosses at DC. In case it wasn't crystal clear from Cavill's social media post, James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed the news on their Twitter profiles. So, despite Black Adam ending as it was, despite Cavill not long ago announcing that he was returning to his role as Superman, tonight Cavill announced that there will be no place for him as Superman in the new DC- his vision. “I just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and I have some sad news for everyone. I won't be coming back as Superman though. After the studio told me to announce my return back in October before they were hired, this news isn't the easiest to accept, but that's life. I respect that James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and everyone involved in the new universe the best of luck..." Cavil stated.

Not that you have to worry about Superman, because we'll definitely get the movie, only we won't see Cavill in it again. With the recent announcement from Gunn, it is now somewhat clearer why such a decision was made. “Peter and I have the DC schedule ready to go, which we couldn't be more excited about than we are, and we'll be able to share more exciting information about our first projects early in the new year. Among them is Superman. In the initial phase, our story will focus on the earlier part of Superman's life, so the character will not be portrayed by Henry Cavill. But we've just had a great meeting with Henry and we're huge fans, and we've discussed a number of exciting opportunities to work together in the future.” Gunn also clarified that he has been writing the script for the film for some time, but that he is not yet sure who will direct it.
For those who are rejoicing that this news could mean Cavill's return to the role of Geralt in the Netflix series, we must note that it is very difficult. Many have speculated that Cavill left the series to return to the role of Superman, but although that may have been a factor, it is assumed that it was not the primary one. But even that aside, we shouldn't get our hopes up too much, as there's no indication that Netflix's plans for Liam Hemsworth to lead "The Witcher" season four, have changed with the news of Cavill's final departure from the role of Superman.
