Hailey Bieber sued over Rhode Beauty name

The business of celebrity cosmetic brands is never boring. The dust has just settled around the case of Kim Kardashian, who was accused of stealing the name of her beauty brand ‘SKKN’, and now, just a week after the launch of the line, Hailey Bieber is on the wallpaper with the ‘Rhode’ brand.

Hailey's line of cosmetics, by the way, is one of those we were actually looking forward to, in a sea of great beauty lines launched by celebrities. ‘Rhode Beauty’ was greeted with enthusiasm on social media and everyone was eagerly awaiting the products that can achieve the glow for which Hailey is known.

The controversy arose over a fashion brand from LA, which is named ‘Rhode Fashion’ and has been in business for nine years. Hailey, whose middle name is Rhode, reportedly wanted to buy the rights to the name four years ago, but founders Phoebe Vickers and Purna Khatau did not agree. ‘Rhode Fashion’ was worn by celebrity faces like Beyonce and currently, their pieces are available on sites like Net-a-Porter and Matchesfashion. So, this is not a small brand that is unknown to most, but the founders are still worried that the Rhode Beauty brand on the market could confuse customers. They also posted an Instagram post commenting on the whole situation.

"We admire Hailey who worked hard to launch her skincare brand. We don't want to sue her but celebrate her success and as an entrepreneur, we wish her all the best. Hailey could have chosen any name for her brand, and all we have is the Rhode name that we built ourselves. That's why we didn't want to sell it four years ago and that's why we're asking Hailey to change its brand name," is part of a statement released. Hailey Bieber's team has not yet responded to the request for a name change, so it remains to be seen in which direction the story will develop. In any case, a situation like this can hardly harm the ‘Rhode Beauty’ brand, which already has an army of fans.
