Hayden Panettiere was going through hell

Actress Hayden Panettiere is best known to the audience for her role as Claire Bennett in the series 'Heroes', but also for her relationship with Vladimir Klitschko, with whom she has a daughter, Kaya. However, it seems that the acting career is the last thing that was written about in recent years when it comes to blonde Hayden. In the center of public interest is her rather turbulent private life, and she talked about everything in a recent interview for People.

Hayden spent almost 10 years with Klitschko, and they started their relationship in 2009. They met during the promotion of a mutual friend's book and it was love at first sight. The actress told the details of their meeting on Ellen DeGeneres' show.

'I told him: 'You are huge.' He said to me: 'You are petite'. And that was it. That's how we met and fell in love,' revealed Panettiere.

In 2013, after a short break, they got engaged, and news soon followed that they were expecting their first child together. The couple welcomed their daughter Kaya on December 13, 2014. 'We are overjoyed and in love with the little one,' they said in a joint statement.

A year after that, the actress was going through difficult times because she was suffering from postpartum depression, so she signed up for treatment at a private clinic. 'It affected every part of my life, so I decided to apply for treatment, ' she said publicly and raised the world about the problem that many mothers deal with.

The break with Klitschko, which shocked the public, happened in 2018, and many were surprised that their daughter did not belong to the mother, but the "gentle giant" got custody of her. After that, Hayden began to sink deeper. Shortly after breaking up with Klitschko, she began a relationship with real estate agent Brian Hickerson.

Already at the beginning of their relationship, news reached the media that Brian had a fight with his own father, David Hickerson, and the police had to intervene, and Hayden was also present on that occasion. The police report stated that both Hayden and Brian were under the influence of alcohol. The actress then admitted that she had been drinking with Brian's father, who, according to the report, had visible injuries on his face and was bleeding, but he told the police that he had fallen. Brian was then taken into custody by the police. A new scandal followed on Valentine's Day 2020 when neighbors called the police after seeing him rummaging around in the yard after Hayden kicked him out of the house. The police noted that the actress had a "red and swollen face" and a "scratched left hand". The media then reported that Bran "punched her in the face" and "threw her".

Although it was quite clear that the actress was fighting her own demons, she only now found the strength to speak openly about it.32-year-old Hayden revealed that she started consuming drugs and alcohol when she was only 15 years old, and that got out of control over time.

' During my growing up, drugs and alcohol became something I couldn't live without,' she admitted and revealed that it was precisely because of the combination of her addiction and postpartum depression that she had to make the most difficult decision. Because of that, she left her daughter to her father, with whom she lives in Ukraine.

'I would shake after waking up and the only way to be functional was to drink alcohol. Sending Kay was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. But I wanted to be a good mother to her, and sometimes that means you have to let them go,' said the actress.

She pointed out that she did not drink while she was pregnant, but that she gave in shortly after the birth and that she did not stop after that. At one point she ended up in the hospital.

'The doctors told me that my liver would fail. I was no longer a 20-year-old girl who could recover quickly,' she said.

She also complained that people wrote her off as 'overly emotional' and told her she was behaving like a 'crazy woman' which made her situation even more difficult. She sought help only after she ended up in the hospital due to drinking, and today, she claims, she is sober and focused on her daughter's future.
