Healing decor: A green living room

We believe you already know, but to repeat, green has always been associated with nature, liveliness, life, spring, freshness, hope, youth, calmness, tolerance, and love. So why don't we bring it into our living rooms, places that should be another synonym for all of the above?

From a positive perspective, green is the color of life, renewal, nature, and energy and is associated with growth, harmony, freshness, security, fertility, and a positive environment. Green is also associated with money and finance, and at the same time reflects the combination of positive and negative forces of nature. It is the color of balance and harmony and is believed to contain the powerful energies of nature, growth, and the desire to expand or increase. Hence, green and all its shades are often used when there is a need to evoke a sense of balance and order, change and transformation, and it is also necessary for growth as well as for maintaining changes, both on a physical and mental level.

In most mythologies, it is believed that green color is added to the living space when there is a need for a new state of balance, change, or growth, to search for new opportunities, or to protect against fears (and possible attacks). It has been proven in psychology that colors can cause certain physical and psychological reactions in the human body, so it is not surprising that green is most often found in treatment rooms - it is optically the calmest and most relaxing color for the eye due to its spectral wavelength.

However, there are certain strict rules that should be taken into account when choosing a green color in interior spaces:

- green creates a protective atmosphere when used for ceilings. However, this can lead to a distressing look when too light or dark tones are used.

- soft green tones create a cool and calm feeling on the interior walls. However, too dark tones on the walls can create a feeling of irritation in the eyes.

- softer tones of green create a soft and relaxing atmosphere on the floor. However, green floors are not a great option when the color is too thick or dark.

In interior design, color is defined by different terms such as 'primary', 'complementary', 'warm', and 'cool' based on several factors which also include shades. In advanced interior design, green is often used to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere – it, just like blue, soothes the eyes and is often the most preferred option for interior design, given the availability of multiple shades. Designers use green color as a mixture of several shades or in combination with other calm and soothing colors, in order to create a simultaneously relaxing and fresh effect.
