How to spend a perfect day in Pisa
Pisa is a legendary city and one of the most famous in this part of Italy. Tourists usually stop in Pisa when they go to Florence, but this is a fantastic city for a special trip and a slightly longer stay because there are many other attractions that are worth seeing next to the famous leaning tower.
Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
This cathedral often stays in the shadow of the Leaning Tower, the city's main attraction, but it is really beautiful and really worth a visit if you ever come to Pisa. The construction of the cathedral began in the 11th century and was completed in 1092. The front facade is decorated with stone ornaments, marble arches, and three bronze doors. The interior is truly stunning - the ceiling is decorated with gold, and there is a fresco on the dome representing the Assumption.
The Leaning Tower
This is definitely a trademark of Pisa and is known around the world. The bell tower of the cathedral is beautiful. It was built in the 12th century, after the construction of the cathedral, but people soon realized that the foundation was poorly done and the building began to bend. The tower has continued to bend to this day and restorations are often made to prevent it from collapsing. Apart from being used for posing in funny pictures, this building is actually beautiful - just look at the six rows of stone arches. In addition, you can climb to the top of the tower and from there you can see the whole city.
The Pisa Baptistery
This baptistery was built when the Leaning Tower was built, but it was made to replace the old baptistery. This huge building is 54 meters high and is known for its many statues, arches, and decorative ornaments on the facade. The dome is only half-finished - half is covered with orange tiles, while the other half has nothing. You will also see beautiful decorations and ornaments in the baptistery itself.

Ponte di Mezzo
Ponte di Mezzo is one of the most beautiful and prominent bridges in Pisa on the Arno River. It is 89 meters long and was built in 1947. The edges of the bridge are made of white stone from Verona. If you are looking for the right place to paint on the Arno River - be sure to come here.
