The Maldives and Bora Bora are known for just that: turquoise, incredibly clear sea, and bungalows like in a fairy tale on top of perfectly blue water. But some agencies are assuring us these days that there are great, often cheaper options of this type in the Caribbean as well.
As for only the geographical position and the conditions that prevail on it, the Caribbean is not God-given for this type of accommodation. If you prefer sheltered lagoons with calm seas, the Caribbean is often known for storms and waves so it could not be a good choice for you. But still, here are some perfect accommodations for the "2022 vacation".
Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort, Jamaica
This is the first bungalow seaside resort of this resort chain. It was built on a private island in the Bay of Montego, and only accepts adults, with a focus on couples. It offers 15 accommodation units above the sea, which boast glass panels on the floor and lighting so you can watch the underwater at night. Of course, nothing without private pools and hammocks. A water taxi takes you to the main building of the resort, and the price includes food, drinks, and activities such as diving. There are eight restaurants at guests' disposal.
Sandals South Coast, Whitehouse, Jamaica
Sandals in Jamaica hold a number of locations, but this one is the latest. The villas above the sea are set in a heart formation and are equipped with the same “gadgets” as the Sandals Royal Caribbean. They only accept adult guests and are also all-inclusive. Even the butler service is included.
El Dorado Maroma, Playa del Carmen, Mexico
These only Mexican bungalows above sea level also accommodate adults only, and the villas also have glass floors. The private terraces feature swimming pools and outdoor showers, and the design features a combination of Aztec-style prints, wood, and white granite. The resort is all-inclusive, with seven restaurants, a range of bars and lounges, and even dance options. The price includes 24-hour butler service.
Sandals Grande St Lucian, Saint Lucia
It is one of the most dramatic Caribbean islands, and the Sandals bungalows above the water overlook one of the most impressive bays there. Of course, as in the case of their other resorts of this type, they accept only adults, everything is all-inclusive. They offer 12 restaurants, diving, and golf.
Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa, Deep Bay, Antigua
This is the only option for bungalows above the sea in Antigua. These are five-star bungalows on two floors with a swimming pool and other luxuries. Although the resort itself accepts families, these bungalows are reserved for adults only. They also offer butler service, and the villas also have glass floors. Guests choose from six restaurants.
