Jamie Dornan: 'I'm worried about comments'
The star of '50 Shades of Gray 'could become the new James Bond, but he is worried about public comments.
Jamie Dornan, 39, the actor best known for his role as Dorian Gray in the ‘50 Shades of Gray ’ trilogy could embody the new James Bond but he is unsure could he handle negative public comments. He mentioned how Batman fans reacted when they learned that his colleague Robert Pattison would play him. 'Prejudice is one of the biggest diseases of our culture, especially in our business. Just remember the reactions that followed Rob got the role, so 90 percent of them were negative,' Jamie said in an interview with Esquire.
'It was similar when Daniel Craig got the role of James Bond. I think the comments were 100 percent negative. It’s very disturbing when you see how many people are furious about the actors. And then what happened? Daniel Craig was brilliant and that changed all of Bond’s energy. So all the proponents end up liking what Rob did with Batman,' he added.
The actor does not hide his excitement about the possibility of playing Agent 007, and he is allegedly fighting this role with Idris Elb and Dwayne Johnson.
'It is very exciting to be in competition for such a role. If you take a closer look at the profiles behind the role of Bond, they are mostly actors with a handful of great projects behind them' said Jamie.
Recall, star of Fifty Shades of Gray, recently told the story that last year, 2021, was the hardest and worst year of his life. Although the actor has had successes in acting waters, he had a tragedy in his personal life early last year. His father died of coronavirus in March.
Due to all the restrictions implemented because of the Covid-19 pandemic and his very busy schedule, the family has so far failed to hold a funeral. Furthermore, the actor was quarantined in Australia just before he was supposed to start filming his much-praised series “The Tourist”. His father was meanwhile in a completely different country, so unfortunately they were separated from each other due to the corona outbreak for more than a year.
Lorna, Jamie’s mother also suffered from cancer, more precisely, pancreatic cancer. Jamie was barely sixteen when his mother passed away prematurely. So we can conclude that Jamie was basically raised by his father, and how much his death pains him is unimaginable.
