Kevin Spacey facing sexual assault charges
Following a police investigation in London, actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with sexual offenses, including attacks on three men.
Actor Kevin Spacey is at the center of the scandal again, and he is now accused of sexually assaulting three men. Rosemary Ainslie, the head of the Special Crimes Department, said that a criminal report had been approved against Kevin Spacey (62) on four counts of sexual assault on three men.
Following a police investigation in London, actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with sexual offenses, including attacks on three men, the British prosecutor's office said on Thursday. Police said the alleged crimes took place between March 2005 and April 2013, with four incidents occurring in London and one in Gloucestershire.
"The prosecution has approved a criminal complaint against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four sexual assaults on three men," said Rosemary Ainslie, head of the Special Crimes Division.
The Oscar-winning actor has largely disappeared from the public eye since he was accused of sexual abuse five years ago. In November 2017, London’s Old Vic Theater announced that they had received 20 separate allegations of Spacey’s misconduct from 20 men who came in contact with him at the theater between 1995 and 2013. Spacey, who won an Oscar for Best Actor in "American Beauty" and Best Supporting Actor in "The Usual Suspects," has previously dismissed all allegations of misconduct.
Spacey is being sued in the United States by actor Anthony Rapp, who accuses him of sexual assault and abuse in the 1980s when Rapp was about 14 years old. A Manhattan judge last year dismissed the lawsuits of another man who sued Spacey after the prosecutor refused to publicly identify himself. Prosecutors in Massachusetts dropped a 2019 criminal case in which Spacey was charged with sexually abusing an 18-year-old boy at a bar three years earlier after the alleged victim refused to testify.
As is already the case in Hollywood, one enviable career was annulled overnight. Spacey is no longer acting anywhere, although he is considered one of the greatest actors of today, and he has two Oscars, 57 other awards, and 90 nominations on the shelf, collaborations with greats such as Bert Lancaster, Mike Nichols, Harrison Ford, David Mamet, Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, David Fincher, Russell Crowe, Clint Eastwood, and many others.
