Meet the wife of tennis legend Rafael Nadal
Renowned tennis player Rafael Nadal has been married for several years to Maria Francisca Perello, a woman who appears very little in public.
We rarely have the opportunity to see her at public events, so she was nicknamed "mysterious" or "shadow woman". During all these years, various theories have developed, and some have gone so far as to say that even Nadal is ashamed, since she has often been criticized for her looks.
On the other hand, there are claims that Maria is the woman in front of whom Nadal trembles like a stick and that her word is a commandment for him. She gave up her career because of him, and he feels guilty about that. Therefore, she makes all the important decisions. Also, she is his main advisor when it comes to business engagements since she has a degree in economics.

Just as about the wife, so little is known about their marriage. Despite the fact that Rafael and Maria grew up in Mallorca, they met only in their high school days, thinking that it was very funny that they had not met before. They started their love affair back in 2005, and after almost 14 years of dating, they decided to get married. The celebration that the couple will forever remember was held in the castle of La Fortaleza. During the long-term relationship, there were numerous rumors about how the tennis player and Maria broke up, primarily because of her non-appearance in public, however, these allegations were denied.
On one occasion, Maria answered the eternal question of why she rarely appears at matches and in public with her famous husband, and she explained why this is the case exclusively for the needs of Nadal's biography. "He needs space when he competes, and the very idea of waiting for him all day to finish what he needs and walking around makes me tired. It would suffocate me. He would have to take care of me ... Just not. If I follow him everywhere, I think there is a risk that we will stop agreeing," she said.
In the same interview, Maria also pointed out why they try so hard to keep their relationship to themselves. "Even when my family asks me about him, I don't say much. The fact is that I just don't feel comfortable talking about my personal life. It suits Rafael as well. We wouldn't want it to ever be any different," Maria explained. The married couple still did not fulfill the role of parents, and speaking about that in the past, they saw the period after the end of Nadal's career as an ideal moment to get an heir.
