Megan Thee Stallion sues her record label for not letting her release BTS's Butter remix - and wins!
Record company managers refused to release 'Butter' Remix with K-Pop band BTS.
It’s a victory for Megan Thee Stallion. The rap star was engaged in a legal battle against the bosses of the 1501 Certified Entertainment label, which distributes her music, because they refused to release the remix of Butter, a song by K-Pop group, BTS. She had sued the record company and its CEO, Carl Crawford.
Citing "irreparable damage to her career" and "a devastating impact on her relationships with fans and other artists in the music industry," Megan Pete, real name, called on the judge to act urgently. The remix was indeed expected this week until the bosses of the label change their minds.
The judge ruled in favor of Megan Thee Stallion and the remix of Butter will therefore be available as planned, as Variety relays. This is not the first time that the artist has asked the courts to intervene to overturn a decision by her record company. Last year her label refused to release her EP titled Suga and she won in court.
Despite the legal drama, BTS has released the “Butter” remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion!
