Mom from Cosby show overjoyed with acquittal: 'Terrible injustice corrected!'

The acclaimed American actress, Phylicia Rashad, 73, praised the acquittal of  Bill Cosby, 83, who spent three years in prison for sexual abuse. Bill was released today, after the Supreme Court in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania overturned a lower court ruling that in 2018 sentenced Bill to ten years.

- FINALLY !!!! A terrible injustice has been corrected! - she wrote on Twitter sharing Bill's photo.

The recently appointed dean of the Fine Arts Department at Howard University has supported the disgraced comedian since he was accused of drugging and abusing Andrea Constand in 2004.

Rashad played Bill’s wife, lawyer Claire Huxtable in ‘Cosby Show’, a series based on the lives of Bill and his then-wife Camille.

Twitter users didn’t wait a moment, as soon as they started commenting on the post, Rashad quickly disabled the comments.

How will she, as dean, react and respond to a student who confides in her that she has been sexually assaulted in college by employees or students?' - wrote one commentator.

- The only thing worse than watching a woman defending her rapist husband is watching a woman defend her ‘fictional’ rapist husband' - one user tweeted.
