MSI: MAG Trident S Desktop with Ryzen 5000 APU
MSI has introduced the MAG Trident S Desktop, a PC in console shape that looks nice in the living room. It is not intended for high-performance computing, but rather for cloud and mobile gaming. More about this can be found further down.
MSI is best recognized for producing high-end hardware and peripherals. The Taiwanese company is one of the few big manufacturers that offers both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards while also producing practically all other PC components.
The MSI MAG Trident S 5M is the company's first foray into new terrain. Although the PC is billed as a gaming desktop, it is primarily intended for cloud gaming and mobile gaming. It can be used as a substitute console in the living room and comes with a 30-day trial pass for Xbox Game Pass. Otherwise, gamers only need to enable the MSI APP Player, an Android system emulator, to get started.
This enables them to navigate the system using a joystick, select games, and play them. The MAG Trident S 5M is outfitted with up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, which is installed in its own form factor on a B300 mainboard in a volume of only 2.6l. Two PCI-E SSDs and one SATA SSD should be able to be installed on the mainboard to provide enough storage space for gamers.
Processors such as the Ryzen 3 5300G and Ryzen 5 5600G are also available. For the main memory, up to 64 GiB DDR4 can be added as SO-Dimms depending on the configuration. A headphone jack, a USB 3.2 type A and a USB 3.2 type C port are located on the front of the new tiny PC.
On the back, there are two extra USB type A ports, an HDMI 2.0 connector capable of displaying up to 4K at 60 Hz, a display port 1.4 port capable of displaying 4K at 120 Hz, and a VGA connection. A LAN port is also included, as is a connection for an external 120 watt power source. Wi-Fi 5 is also included.
MSI Spatium M450, a mid-range M.2 Gen4 NVMe SSD
This storage is not intended to compete with high-end SSDs, but rather to broaden the offer of this family's mid-range, while preserving the dedication to performance and resistance for professionals, content creators, and gamers.
The Spatium M450 has been designed to satisfy the requirements of leading SSD consumers, with a PCIe 4 interface that enables fast sequential read speeds of up to 3,600 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 3,000 MB/s, allowing users to experience quick file transfers and short load times.
Thus, as part of the MSI Spatium line, this SSD is built on the most recent 3D NAND flash technology, with a compact design tablet and no heatsink capable of delivering us storage capacities of up to 1TB, as well as complete compatibility with desktop and laptop computers.
Furthermore, the Spatium M450 offers a wide range of data error correction features such as LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection, as well as a high TBW (Terabytes Written) for great endurance and longevity that is guaranteed by a warranty.
