NEW: Are you ready for "Gladiator 2"?

The new year 2024 is in front of us, and for the first time the film scene is not dominated by Marvel films, and we are again expecting a handful of sequels and a few original films. From the multitude of films announced for the coming year, we have one that we are especially looking forward to.

According to foreign media, "Gladiator 2" is set to be released on November 22, 2024. In this movie, Paul Mescal is one of the main roles. The 27-year-old Irishman broke into the scene with roles in "Normal People" and "Aftersun", for which he is currently nominated for best actor at this year's Oscar.

Fans of the first film have been theorizing for years about a potential sequel and possible franchise of the Gladiator universe, and director Riddley Scott stated back in 2018 that plans for a sequel were ready, and last year he confirmed that the script was finished, saying that it had many components from the first part on which the story can be continued and extended.

The original "Gladiator" thrilled the whole world with its release in 2000 and became one of those movies that even after the first viewing, you are happy to watch it again if you come across it on TV. At the Oscars in 2001, it won as many as 5 awards and was remembered as one of the best films ever. Not much is known about the story of the sequel, but the character that Mescal is supposed to play is the grandson of Comondus, the antagonist of the first "Gladiator" whose character and work were immortalized by the phenomenal Joaquin Phoenix. Other information related to the plot of the film as well as the rest of the casting should be known during the year.

Get ready to be entertained by another trip to ancient Rome as "Gladiator 2" officially arrives in theaters on Friday, November 22, 2024. This date will have the film opening the week before another major blockbuster in "Wicked: Part One" which arrives on November 27, 2024.
