NEW: "Despicable Me 4" Trailer is out!

Definitely is confirmed that Gru and the Minions are back! Universal and Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4” finally released its first trailer. The plot of the movie follows the popular animated franchise, which follows the reformed supervillain Gru (Steve Carrell) attempting to do good and find a family. Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, Chris Renaud, Dana Gaier, and Pierre Coffin are back in the fourth installment.

The synopsis says: "In the first Despicable Me movie in seven years, Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem in Illumination’s Despicable Me 4."

What can we expect?

New characters in "Despicable Me 4” are voiced by Will Ferrell, Joey King, Sofia Vergara, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman, and Madison Polan. Ferrell gives his voice to Gru’s new nemesis Maxime Le Mal, while Vergara plays Maxime’s femme fatale girlfriend Valentina.

The first movie showed Gru adopting three daughters, while the second installment caught Gru in love with Lucy Wilde (voiced by Wiig). Recall that “Despicable Me 3” had a shocking reveal with the arrival of Gru’s long-lost twin brother, Dru (also voiced by Steve Carrell). In the fourth film, Gru and Lucy welcome a new addition to the family and that is their son, Gru Jr.
In 2017, “Despicable Me 3” was a thrilling box office success, crossing the $1 billion milestone worldwide and exceeding the “Shrek” series as the highest-grossing animated film franchise. Part of the franchise’s success can likely be added to its most iconic and memorable characters, the Minionese-speaking yellow Minions. These lovable Minions perform as Gru’s “sidekicks” but, in keeping with demand, had to star in their spinoff films, “Minions” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru.“

Illumination co-founder Chris Meledandri produces “Despicable Me” and “Despicable Me 2” director Chris Renaud co-directs with Patrick Delage.
