Nintendo released a new The Super Mario Bros Movie trailer

Nintendo surprised fans by releasing a new trailer for the film The Super Mario Bros.  The 30-second clip includes extra views from the opening scene seen in the second trailer, as well as additional content from the fight between Donkey Kong and Mario, namely one of Mario's powers - the catsuit.

We first saw the cat costume in 2013's Super Mario 3D World, but because Nintendo has added many more skills for the main character to take on throughout the years, we'll have to wait until the film's release to see which ones make the cut.

The new clip also features the first time we've heard Seth Rogan's voice as Donkey Kong, after previously hearing the voices of Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Charlie Day as Luigi.

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Mario games, stated after the publication of the second teaser for The Super Mario Bros Movie that Nintendo had changed the Donkey Kong character for the first time since converting to 3D in 1994. The studio sought a somewhat brighter aesthetic that was more reminiscent of the original game.

The film's premiere date is set for April 7, 2023.

Millions of players have been playing Super Mario Bros. wrong for 37 years.

Although not as demanding as the original Super Mario Bros., the 1985 game belonged to a generation of games in which gamers did not have the luxury of losing. When it came to Mario, no matter where the last life was lost, the game would return us to a 1-1 level and we had to start over. That's what we thought, at least...

Millions of people have played Super Mario Bros., and millions have faced the consequences of their defeat. Progressing through 32 levels just to lose to Bowser is sufficient punishment. Return to 1-1 and the first bars of the legendary theme song? Torture.

However, it turns out that we had been playing the game incorrectly all along, and there was no reason to replay all of the levels after losing the last life. You read that correctly - we had the choice of returning to the world where we were defeated!? Although this secret has been floating around the internet for years, RetroGamingOnline made it viral.

This means that if you died at level 4-1, you go back to 4-1. If you lost at level 7-3, you go back to 7-1. So you'll still have to play through all the levels of the world you've already beaten, but it's certainly better than starting all over again.
