According to reports, the former president is planning a big celebration on a property on Martha’s Vineyard Island south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, which has raised public concern about the possible spread of the coronavirus.
A reporter at a White House briefing on Monday asked if Obama, with plans to host such a big event, was the wrong example that covid-19 was not a serious illness.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the planned party would be "moderate and outdoors".
In addition, she added that there would be requests for testing as well as other measures, but she did not want to go into details.
“I would definitely refer you to a team working for my former boss to give you more details about the protocols,” Psaki added.
