Official trailer for 'Spencer' released: Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana divides audience
The film hits theaters in early November and is already on the list of potential nominations for the 2022 Oscars
After the short teaser trailer that was released in August, “Spencer,” a biographical drama about the British royal family and one of the most anticipated films of the year, has been given an official trailer.
Kristen Stewart portrays the late Princess Diana, and the film's trailer shows moments in which she resists royal traditions and what her life looked like after her divorce from Prince Charles.
Many were interested in how the American actress would master the British accent, which they now have a chance to hear.
The film is already on the list of potential nominations for the 2022 Oscars and has delighted film critics who were among the first to see it at the recent Venice Film Festival. The film hits theaters in early November.
Critics mostly praised Kristen Stewart’s performance, while the audience’s impressions after the trailer came out were divided.
“She’ll definitely get an Oscar nomination,” “She doesn’t look like Diana at all,” “The worst casting ever,” “This looks great, she’s mastered the accent,” “I feel Diana’s depression in Kristen’s eyes,” are just some of the conflicting comments.
