Panasonic presents its new televisions for 2022

Panasonic has officially unveiled their new TV lineup for 2022, which includes seven series that will be available this year and cover the entire range of features you'd expect from new batch models, including OLED and LED panels, Android TV, upgraded ports, and screens up to 77 inches… Although divided into two enormous blocks, there is something for everyone's likes and needs.

Panasonic's LED television offering for 2022 includes four models, but a wide range of sizes, ranging from 32 to 76 inches, as well as a common denominator in the form of an operating system that, for the first time, is available in English.

In turn, Android TV, in conjunction with embedded Chromecast, governs the entire line of Panasonic LED TVs, permitting the installation of apps via Google Play and the transmission of content, respectively.

However, there are variances in the availability of sizes and other components from one model to the next:

  • Panasonic LED LX800  is available in 75, 65, 55, 50, and 43 inches.
  • Panasonic LED LX700  is available in 75, 65, 55, 50, and 43 inches.
  • Panasonic LED LX65 0 is available in 65, 55, 50, and 43 inches
  • Panasonic LED LS490  is available in 32 inches

The new HCX Processor is found in the LX800 and LX700 models, which also include a 4K Color Engine, Google Assistant integration, and HDMI ports that can be used with soundbars or an AV receiver via ARC. The 75-, 65-, and 55-inch models, on the other hand, come with an HDR Cinema Display, while the 50- and 43-inch models come with Bright Panel Plus.

For their part, the new Panasonic OLED televisions are distinguished by the inclusion of the most recent and well-nourished version of the operating system, My Home Screen 7.0, as well as GameMode Extreme for enhanced gaming experience.

There are three models in all, ranging in size from 42 to 77 inches, and each is equipped with Panasonic's HCX Pro AI processor. They differ not just in terms of models, but also in terms of sizes:

  • Panasonic OLED LZ2000 - Available in 77, 65, and 55 inches
  • Panasonic OLED LZ1500 - Available in 65, 55, 48, and 42 inches
  • Panasonic OLED LZ980 - Available in 65, 55, 48, and 42 inches

More specifically, the LZ2000 and LZ1500 models (the latter with the exception of the 42- and 48-inch models) feature a Master OLED Pro panel with "the highest peaks of the Original Cine, Cine, Filmmaker, and Professional," enhancements in blue color volume, automatic color temperature adjustment, and Netflix Calibrated Mode compatibility.

Overall, the new Panasonic OLED televisions stand out for the aforementioned GameMode Extreme, an exclusive feature of these that includes a new function called Game Control Board that "gathers all relevant settings and information of the game in one place and allows the user to view and adjust game parameters without having to access the game menu," in addition to the quality of their panels. Game Control Board, in particular, provides real-time access to:

  • All relevant game data is provided, including frame rate, HDR metadata, and chroma subsampling data.
  • The user can modify the darkest area of dim scenes, making it easier to see the route ahead or notice adversaries hidden in the shadows.
  • HDR Tone Map — Shows the current HDR Tone Map setting, such as "Off" (the tone map is handled by the game deck), "On" (the tone map is managed by the TV), and "Dynamic" (the tone map is maintained by the TV) (the TV analyzes incoming frames in real-time and produces a scene-by-scene dynamic tone map, even when the source is static HDR).
  • Input Delay and VRR – Displays and adjusts the Input Delay and VRR settings.
  • Display Mode - This allows the player to change the display mode in real-time and view the effect live to select their preferred look.

Panasonic's new OLED TVs offer essential HDMI2.1 features like High Frame Rate (HFR) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) at 120Hz in full 4K resolution; speed improvements, including dramatically decreased latency in 60Hz refresh mode and input lag in 60Hz games; and AMD FreeSync Premium certification.

Panasonic's new televisions for 2022 are likewise focused on improving sound quality. As a result, the LZ2000 series has directional sound and Panasonic's Soundscape Pro 360° audio system, which is meant to provide immersive sound. Dolby Atmos is a revolutionary Front Array speaker system featuring Beamforming technology for directed sound and interference avoidance.

The 'Dynamic Cinema Surround Pro' audio system, which uses an integrated woofer for increased power, is used in the LZ1500 series (65-inch and 55-inch models), while the 'Cinema Surround Pro' audio system is used in the LZ980 series (48-inch and 42-inch models), which are all compatible with Dolby Atmos. The LX800 series, on the other hand, simply has a better version of the 'SurroundSound' technology.
