Recipe of the day: Pie with caramelized cherries
Cherry pie goes great after a light lunch, such as lasagna or pasta. It is an ideal choice when you have guests, or your family wants something sweet.
Although they do not contain as much vitamin C like strawberries, the presence of antioxidants and other useful ingredients makes them an extremely healthy fruit. Cherries contain vitamins C, B, and A, bioflavonoids, ellagic acid, anthocyanin, and melatonin. These ingredients help fight cancer, prevent heart disease, relieve pain caused by arthritis and headaches, and relieve symptoms associated with fibromyalgia syndrome. Cherries help our body produce melatonin in a safe and healthy way and improve physiological and mental functions. Fresh cherries are good for relieving physical and mental exhaustion, and sour cherries improve mood. Cherries have very similar health properties.
It is unlikely that cherries are not among your favorite fruits. In addition to the fact that we love to eat them fresh, be sure you are going to enjoy them combined with caramel and dough. Their season has started and they should be used in the best possible way.

Sift the flour and add the butter cut into pieces, then knead with a mixer or your hands to get a crumbly dough. Add baking soda and sour milk, then add to the flour. Combine everything well. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to make it as thin as possible, then place it over the cherries in a baking pan and lightly tuck the ends.
