Samsung MX-T70: party sound tower

People normally think of TVs or phones when they hear the word Samsung, however, the corporation is making inroads into the audio market as well. They mostly offer sound projectors and soundbar-based sets, but they also provide some more specialized options.

Such is the Sound Tower clan, whose members bolster an ever-expanding camp of so-called party speakers. The qualities of these gadgets, such as louder loudness than typical, powerful bass, flashing lights, and different effects, first made them known and immensely popular in Latin America.

Following the enormous popularity of these models, consumer electronics makers have chosen to make them available in other parts of the world.

Design

It is an adjusted device with a subwoofer at the bottom, centered speakers, a big keypad control panel, and a monochrome vacuum fluorescent (VFD) display that delivers the standard to the product family.

The outputs and inputs are located on the back, along with two RCA stereo analog audio, USB 2.0 and microphone connections, and a 3.5mm socket. In addition to the microphone inputs, there are two dials to alter the volume and reverberation effect, making the gadget excellent for karaoke.

With a height of 88.4 centimeters, a width of 46.3 centimeters, a depth of 45.5 centimeters, and a weight of 26.2 kilograms, it is a notably enormous and difficult-to-move product.

The housing resembles a triangle column with one of its corners slanted slightly downward; the user faces the VFD display and control panel from the flattened tip.

Colored LEDs have typically been an essential component of such party speakers, and they do not disappoint here. Four tiny RGB LEDs have been inserted into the interior of the four legs, illuminating the floor as well. In addition, there is a big RGB LED in the center, behind the speaker grilles, that scatters its light around and to the side.

Of course, you can choose what hue to light in, and you can have the lights pulsate, change color, and change to the beat of the music. In general, we are not supporters of manufacturing a product out of a Christmas tree, but this service is appropriate for house parties, parties, and social events. The light from the LEDs is powerful enough that it makes sense in the dark or in low light, but it also appears to be lit during the day.

Control

Because the device lacks a built-in battery, it must be powered by an external source.

The control panel, which is already packed on the top of the housing, can be used to control the device, but not all functions and capabilities are available through it, unlike the remote control included in the product box, which allows you to fully utilize the gadget. This item is large enough, the buttons are the proper size, the grip is comfortable, and the backlight is turned off.

The remote can be activated by a free Samsung app called Sound Tower, which can be downloaded to a mobile device.

You can change the volume, switch between sources, enable extra features, and switch between sound modes, so you know everything the remote control can do.

Sound sources

The Samsung MX-T70 Sound Tower, like all related products, can provide audio content from many sources. The most obvious method is to achieve this through a wire; all you have to do is connect the units with the appropriate connection.

Unfortunately, it lacks an optical digital or HDMI connector, despite the fact that there would have been space for them and enhanced versatility.

There are also two USB ports on the device, which allow it to manage media files on external storage devices using its own media player software. It is required in the format support box since, in addition to MP3, the sound of WMA and FLAC has been solved.

The application can tell the difference between separate folders and does not consider all songs as a single collection. The name of the chosen file will be displayed on the previously described monochrome LCD display, so we will know exactly what will sound.

The usage of Bluetooth technology is now a basic necessity for such a product, therefore the Samsung MX-T70 may also transfer material in this format from compatible devices. Because the amount of delay is modest, the model may even be appropriate for hands-free play if desired.

Sound quality and evaluation

The Samsung MX-T70 Sound Tower is equipped with two 150-watt tweeters, two 300-watt center speakers, and a 600-watt subwoofer. It boasts a total power of 1,500 watts, which appears to be adequate on paper, and you can't really complain about the volume.

In an average-sized property, you can't even roll up to the maximum because it's so loud that it crosses the pain threshold.

As expected, the bass is audible, and if that isn't enough, turning on the Extra Bass function amplifies the bass even more. Although the product scatters sounds in two directions, it cannot produce a stereo sound field.

There are pre-programmed audio profiles, (Standard, Party, Hip-Hop, EDM, Rock, Latin, House Reggae).

There are significant variances between them, but there is no equalization, so the user cannot alter the proportions individually.

The speech makes it clear that this speaker is not intended for audiophiles. Overall, we can say that it performs well in terms of sound quality for the purpose for which it was created; but, no miracles can be anticipated from it.

Opinion

The Samsung MX-T70 Sound Tower is a true party monster that can really work out at a party or for someone who gets into this bazaar stuff and wants to conjure up a private disco from their room. The operation is flawless, the remote control that comes with it is excellent, and the control via the app is also excellent.

The added features, such as LED lights, DJ effects, and the ability to connect a microphone, make perfect sense. In terms of sound, it delivered what we expected from him, as the volume is turned up, there are no faults, and the bass is lacking.

That is the goal of a device like this, and if we balance things out, we can say that it is also good for listening to music with some compromise.

The appearance is average in our opinion; we wouldn't say the designers went above and above; there are no tricky, amazing design features or solutions on it, but there is nothing wrong with it.

It is available for $480, making it one of the more expensive variants in the product family, but it is also one of the most popular in terms of volume.
