Searchlight Pictures bought rights to the acclaimed drama "A Real Pain"!

Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin star in Eisenberg's second directorial venture.

Searchlight Pictures bought rights to the acclaimed drama "A Real Pain"!

The humorous drama "A Real Pain" got its global distributor and we can expect it in cinemas this year. Searchlight Pictures has secured the rights to the film with $10 million. In this movie, we can see Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin as cousins ​​who travel to their late grandmother's Poland to learn more about their roots and happen to attend a memorial parade to the Holocaust.
"A Real Pain" movie had its American premiere two days ago, on Saturday, January 20, at the Sundance Film Festival, where it received huge applause, after which it became a film that had to be seen, especially since it was made so emotionally and correctly concerning the sensitive topic. It is Eisenberg's second feature film on which he worked behind the camera (the first was "When You Finish Saving the World" ), and he drew inspiration from his own life. Eisenberg stated: "I have always been interested in Poland. My family comes from Poland. I was very close to my dad's aunt who was born in 1912 and lived in Poland until she was nine years old."  Eisenberg added in a statement, “Making "A Real Pain" was a true labor of love, and it has been so thrilling to premiere at Sundance. I couldn’t be more honored to work with Searchlight and to bring this story to a wider audience.”.

“A Real Pain” is full of breezy talk about many things, and in this movie, the suffering is embedded in Jewish history. Searchlight Pictures plans to release “A Real Pain” this year.

We can’t wait to bring it to audiences around the world.” Jesse Eisenberg directed "A Real Pain" and wrote the screenplay, and other roles include Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, and Will Sharpe.
