SEX SCANDAL SHAKES FAMOUS BAND MEGADETH
Ellefson and Mustaine founded Megadeth in 1983. The bassist was in the band until 2002 and then rejoined it in 2010, and this incident has now permanently kicked Ellefson out of the band.
American heavy metal band Megadeth fired bassist David Ellefson after he was accused of recruiting a minor through messages and videos.
- We are informing the fans that David Ellefson is no longer playing in Megadeth and that we are officially breaking up with him. We did not make this decision easily. Although we do not know every detail of what happened and given the already-strained relations with him, what is known so far is enough to make our work together impossible in the future - wrote the band's co-founder and guitarist Dave Mustaine on social media on Monday.
The recordings and messages recently surfaced on social media, and the musician denied all allegations.
He explained on social media that these were private recordings that were taken out of context only to harm his reputation, career, and family.
- The recordings were published with malicious intent by a third party who should neither have nor share them - the musician wrote.
He also shared a photo of the statement of the woman who appeared in the videos and that she was not a minor at the time of the incident. The band said they are eagerly waiting for the truth to come out.
