Skin and complexion of our dreams!
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of a good complexion. We need to get our skin as healthy as possible.
The night is the best time to rest and repair damage to the skin during the day.
We take so many steps to make our skin look great in the morning, but what if we tell you that the biggest secret of beautiful skin is in what happens while we sleep? The night is the best time to rest and repair damage to the skin during the day as a result of the environment and stress.
Here are additional ways we can improve our skin care routine and get our skin as healthy as possible:
Clean your face properly
You need to be sure that you removed all makeup from your face. Sleeping with makeup can cause a lot of damage to your skin, leading to acne, allergies, infections, and more. You want to make sure your face is clean not only from makeup but also from oils, pollution, and impurities that accumulate during the day. The trick is to use a gentle but moisturizing facial cleanser that will ensure you cleanse properly without removing natural oils from your skin.
Don't forget about hydration
According to experts, the level of skin hydration decreases in the evening, which is the optimal time for the accumulation of moisture. This most often happens if you have dry skin. You need a rich cream full of lipids and ceramides because they will be absorbed into clean and sensitive skin.
Additional hydration with masks
For extra hydration, consider adding a night mask to your routine at least once a week. Spend the night with the mask, and wash your face in the morning.
Watch your hair
Similar to skin, it is not recommended to go to bed with too greasy and dirty hair, and it is ideal to keep it away from the face. If you are prone to acne, you will need to pay special attention to hair oils and styling products that can be transferred to your pillow or skin and thus encourage acne breakouts. That doesn’t mean you can’t sleep with a hair mask or hair conditioner. But it would be ideal to sleep with a towel or shower cap if your hair is not clean.
Change your sleeping position
During sleep, frictional forces act that accelerates aging and causes the appearance of thin lines. Due to the aging of the skin, the best way to sleep is on the back. This means that the skin does not lean against the pillowcase and cannot wrinkle.
Often new bedding changing
Regardless of the cleanliness of the face, various bacteria, but also dust, accumulate on our bedding. It would be ideal to change the bed linen every two days. The bedding that least wrinkles the skin is made of satin/silk fabric, so it is the best choice for healthy skin.
Colder temperatures are better for the skin
As for your skin, it is recommended to keep the temperature slightly lower. Not only can this help you sleep better, but the heat can also make your skin itch worse. Humidifiers are also a great tool to help dry skin and skin prone to eczema.
Sleep enough
Last but not least, make sure you get enough sleep. Our metabolism slows down while we sleep, allowing the body to focus all its energy on healing everything that our body suffers from. For healthy skin, eight hours of sleep is the minimum, and 10 hours is the best option.
