Sylvester Stallone Is Having A Great Time In 'Tulsa King'

When something is a good match, you simply know. Legend has it that Taylor Sheridan wrote Tulsa King's first script in less than 24 hours, with the intention of casting Sylvester Stallone in the starring role.

For obvious reasons, Paramount followed Sheridan's advice and this idea since viewers can't get enough of those new-fangled Yellowstone shows he made. It's impossible to deny that Sheridan is one of the few individuals who have broken the TV code when there are a billion rival shows clamoring for viewers.

Terence Winter directs this tv show, which has Sly pulling out all the stops as a mob leader who has served decades in prison and anticipates some retribution. What does he get? Let's just say Tulsa is a wonderful little city, and it would be a shame if something... you get the idea.

Sheridan wrote this little tune with a Kansas City setting in mind, but the transfer to Tulsa works out well for the mob and newly busted chops. It's unexpected and humorous, and it comes on the heels of a cultural renaissance for the former Oil Capital of the World.

Taylor Sheridan's initial script for Tulsa King may have been written nearly off the cuff, but it's the role that Stallone has been grooming for. He's also as good as his contemporary, Arnold Schwarzenegger, at one-liners, but Sly didn't get as many chances to show them off back in the day. Dwight is a complex character, and Stallone has stated that he's "never worked so hard in my life."

The series was shot in Oklahoma, in OKC and Tulsa, where local landmarks appear. We don't want to ruin one major attraction that depicts an important (and emotional) moment for Dwight, so we'll probably discuss it later.

However, there are plenty of local attractions on exhibit, such as the legendary Golden Driller and the smatterings of Route 66. Tulsa is an unusual city in that skyscrapers serve as a backdrop for animals meandering through city streets.

In other words, Tulsa is the ideal contradictory location for a program like Tulsa King, in which Sly plays a character struggling to understand contemporary social norms, the Internet, and even simple things like taking an Uber. You can see he's having a great time with this job, and it's always inspiring to watch someone doing what they love for a living.
