Surely in your environment, you have people who are constantly full of energy, in the mood to socialize, and smiling. What is their secret? If you belong to a group that wakes up grumpy, you must be wondering what others do to keep a cheerful spirit despite stress and obligations? Here are some simple tips to help you improve your mood after waking up and keep it until the end of the day:
1. Tell yourself “I love you”
In the morning when you get up go to the mirror and say “I love you” to yourself. Although it sounds strange and funny, self-love is something that is practiced and learned. Repeat this a few times, and the new day will fill you with love. If you repeat this practice every day, you will raise your self-confidence! And when you have confidence, then comes the mood!
2. Morning exercise
Very often we neglect morning exercises, and that is a real shame. Because exercise helps the body to wake up, it is good for health, and it also raises the level of happiness hormones. So make it a habit to do a few exercises every morning or just go for a walk. You will see how much better you will feel after that.
3. Write a diary
You can take at least 5 minutes a day to write a few sentences in your diary. Write your plans for the day, motivational messages, quotes... List each day what you are grateful for in life.
4. Listen to music
An easy way to increase the level of endorphins in your blood and improve your mood is to listen to your favorite music. Let it go while you get ready for work or on the way to the office. Music has a therapeutic effect, it can relax us, and calm us down, but it can also lift us up, and motivate us.
5. Essential oils
While you are getting ready for work and drinking coffee, put a few drops of citrus essential oil, for example, orange or grapefruit, in a diffuser or drip on a piece of cloth. Inhale several times. These oils improve mood, evoke beautiful thoughts, and increase productivity.
6. Call the person you love
Whether it's a partner who has already gone to work or doesn't live with you, your mom, a friend... call them and wish them good morning. Talking to a loved one is healing.
7. Make a mood-enhancing breakfast
Thanks to the large amount of protein, vitamin D, and B12, eggs have a positive effect on mood. They contain choline, which improves the cognitive functions of the brain, improves mood, and helps create neurotransmitters. Omelet or scrambled eggs is a matter of choice, but in addition to making us feel good, eggs are also a very nutritious quality meal that will keep you full for a long time.
