The creator of the "Simpsons" series announced some news!
Homer will continue to "love his son in a special way," claims James L. Brooks
A few years ago, the public was divided because of the series that has captivated viewers for decades. Yes, you are right, because of "The Simpsons"!
The reason for the division was the character of the Indian trader Apu Nahasapimapetilon, who was voiced by actor Hank Azaria. After this, the producers of the American animated series decided to no longer use white voices for characters from other ethnic groups.
Now, when the storm about it died down, a new problem arose - the strangling of Bart Simpson.
From the first episode of the now iconic series, the head of the Simpson family, father Homer has a special way of reacting to Bart's mischief. He grabs him around the neck and says "Why you little...", which he hasn't done in a while. In the last episode of the series "McMansion and Wife", Homer shakes hands with a neighbor who tells him "he has a strong grip".
"See Marge, strangling the kid paid off," Homer says, adding "Just kidding, I don't do that anymore, times have changed."
Viewers quickly expressed their displeasure on social networks, claiming that the cult series become " politically correct at the expense of fun and laughter ", which one of the creators of the series and producer James L. Brooks has now denied.
"We're not going to change anything. Nothing, nothing, nothing! He's still going to be strangled ... if you want to use that ugly term. Homer is going to continue to love Bart in his own special way," Brooks said.
But despite that statement from Brooks, Homer hasn't strangled Bart in the series for quite some time. According to IGN, Homer strangled Bart for the last time on-screen during the show's 31st season, which aired from 2019 to 2020.
But some things won't change. This animated comedy family from the small town of Springfield continues to delight viewers by making fun of everything.
