The first charming Christmas movies to arrive on Netflix
Although we are over a month away from Christmas, a good part of the Christmas assortment has already arrived in stores, and we are slowly starting to forge plans for the upcoming holidays. As every year, Netflix is starting to flare up the hype around its Christmas movie lineup in time.
Numerous film titles from international and local productions arrive during November and December, and each new trailer and movie is greeted with enthusiasm among fans. The simplicity and anticipation of the plot, the charming and sympathetic love stories that always have a happy ending give us the perfect dose of escapism in the colder months after the hectic pace. We have singled out the most interesting Christmas movies that Netflix has discovered so far.
THE CLAUS FAMILY
A Dutch-Belgian production has prepared the family holiday story The Claus Family this Christmas. The movie follows a boy named Jules who is not a fan of the holiday atmosphere. However, when his grandfather falls ill, Jules discovers that the family is not what it seems and realizes that only he can save this Christmas.
LOVE HARD
Love Hard is among the most popular movies this Christmas season. After watching Kat Graham in the Christmas lineup last year, this year the main star of the once-hit series The Vampire Diaries is arriving on Netflix. Nina Dobrev plays with Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Jimmy O. Young, James Saito, Mikaela Hoover, and others. The plot revolves around Natalie, a hopeless romantic and journalist who thinks that her happiness in love will finally turn when she meets the charming Tag (Barnet) through a dating app. Without much thought, she decides to buy a plane ticket and surprise her new crush - only to discover that she has not communicated with Tago at all, but with his childhood best friend, Josh, who, just like her, simply has no luck in love.
THE PRINCESS SWITCH 3
Netflix is not giving up on the popular The Princess Switch franchise! The story gets its third sequel, and Vanessa Hudgens plays as many as three roles again. This time the plot revolves around stealing a valuable item from the court, which is why Queen Margaret (Hudgens) and Princess Stacy (Hudgens) seek the help of another 'twin' - Margert's cousin Fiona (Hudgens). With the help of a mysterious man from the past, Fiona will try to track down the stolen item, and at the same time, the Christmas romance will flare up in unexpected ways. The film comes out on November 18th!
A BOY CALLED CHRISTMAS
Soon after, an unusual team comes to the streaming platform - Sally Hawkins Kristen Wiig, Henry Lawfull, Toby Jones, Zoe Coletti, (adored) Maggie Smith, and others. Based on the book by the popular Matt Haig, the film follows a boy Nicholas who goes on an unforgettable adventure to the north, all in order to find his father who is looking for the village of elves - Elfhelm. Nicholas is joined by reindeer Blitzen and his pet mouse in a witty, touching, and magical Christmas adventure. The film will be available from November 24th.
A CASTLE FOR CHRISTMAS
Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes are the main characters of another Christmas movie coming out on November 26th. The plot revolves around Sophie Brown (Shields), a renowned author who travels to Scotland with a desire to buy a real small castle. However, the picky owner, also a duke, Myles, creates problems for her. The quarrels with each other soon turn into a real love story that none of them expected.
SINGLE ALL THE WAY
Michael Urie, Philemon Chambers, Luke Macfarlane, Jennifer Coolidge, and others star in another Christmas film that arrives on December 2. The film reminds us a bit of last year's 'Holidate'. The story follows Peter (Urie) who convinces his best friend Nick (Chambers) to join him this holiday season to avoid asking his family questions about why he is still single. They successfully pretend to be together until Peter’s mother sets up a blind date with coach James (Macfarlane) for her son, causing the whole plan to fall apart.
