The life story of Steve Jobs
Ten years ago, the FBI released a file on Steve Jobs that portrays him in a not-so-nice light.
Steve Jobs changed the world with his inventions. The evolution of the world of mobile technology was brought by his iPhone. And while for some he was a genius, others went so far as to call him a thief of ideas. Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, and in 1976 he and Steve Wozniak founded the now famous Apple company. Ten years ago, the US FBI released a file on him in which he was portrayed in a not very nice light.
The report dates back to 1991 after then-President George W. Bush wanted to have it on his Export Council.
On that occasion, the FBI spoke with Jobs associates, friends, family members, neighbors, and even the head of Apple himself, who set aside only an hour for them. He revealed to them in a conversation that from 1970 to 1974, while attending high school and college, he consumed marijuana, hashish, LSD. The report said he was the subject of several lawsuits over his position at Apple, but that he was not arrested and was not a member of the Communist Party.
He is described as a stubborn, workaholic, and visionary person. Some have called him a genius. Investigators were told he has integrity only when things turn out the way he envisioned. One woman told the FBI that his private life had suffered because of his narcissism and shallowness and that his experiences with Eastern religions had improved his life. Interestingly, all interviewees still felt he deserved to be on the Council.
Also, another story from his life left a stain on his brilliant career. In a relationship with Chrisann Brennan in 1978, he had a daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs. He denied paternity first, claiming that the father of the child was someone else. He appeared a few days after the birth and helped choose a name for the baby and disappeared. He admitted it only a few years later after DNA analysis. He claimed in court that he was sterile and infertile. He later called one computer Lisa but claimed it had nothing to do with her. Lisa only met her father in 1986. Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011, after battling a pancreatic tumor for a long time.
