The most common reasons for hair loss

It is considered normal to lose up to 100 hairs a day. If you have noticed that you are losing more than that, is a sign that you should deal with this increasingly common problem.

Any hair loss to a greater extent is called alopecia. Some types of baldness can also occur due to alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder.

It is known that hair becomes thinner mostly with age. However, sudden hair loss that occurs lately usually affects young women, and it happens as a consequence of extreme stress. Men often lose hair because they have such genetic predispositions.

Other causes include taking certain medications, too much vitamin A or not enough protein.

Hair loss can also be a consequence of hormonal imbalance, iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, sudden weight loss, but also vitamin B12 deficiency.

How to prevent hair loss?

First of all, evaluate your routine and replace the shampoo with the one without sulfate. A regular shampoo may dry out your hair and increase the risk of hair loss. Sulfate-free shampoos are gentler to the hair.

In any case, it is best to consult a doctor about the treatment before you do anything yourself. Also, it can help you discover the cause of hair loss, which is actually the most important.

What to do if your hair is thin?

If your hair is thin, be sure to increase your protein and vegetable intake. The best sources of protein are fish, chicken, pork, milk, eggs, yogurt, nuts, and soy.

As simple as it may sound, never skip applying conditioner after shampooing, as this will, among other things, split your hair less because it will make it easier to comb.
