We remember her for the role of Alex in the cult film "Flashdance" directed by Adrian Lyne from 1983.
Actress Jennifer Beals (57) was adored by everyone in the 80's - her big black eyes, sweet voice, and unforgettable role in "Flashdance". Although she had a successful career on the big screen when she was only 20, Jennifer decided to study American literature at Yale University.
She appeared in films such as "Devil in a Blue Dress", "Roger Dodger", "Runaway Jury", "The Book of Eli" and she usually played supporting roles.

Her role in the series "The L Word", which was aired from 2004 to 2009, was very noticeable. Namely, here she plays Bette Porter, a lesbian who works as a museum director, and because of this part, she became a gay icon, as well as a fighter for gay rights.
She refused to play in the reality show " Dancing with the Stars" with the explanation that she is not a dancer: "I am not a dancer. They asked me and I refused," she said.
She is married to Canadian businessman Ken Dixon and they have a daughter.
