What are Billionaire's hobbies? Top 6 on the list

A regular vacation just doesn't cut for a billionaire anymore. Their idea of fun is exploring places that are actually out of this world. Seriously.

Let's take a look at the top 6 hobbies that billionaires indulge in.

Space Vacations
Just recently Blue Origin's CEO Jeff Bezos's blasted off to space in his personal rocket. This 10-minute space ride cost Bezos a whopping $1.5 million of dollars. But, Bezos isn't the first billionaire to go to space. Microsoft's giant Charles Simoni beat Bezos by a decade, as the first billionaire in space. As early as 2007, Simoni had already taken two trips to space with the company SpaceX. Being the first billionaire to jet off the space sure did cost ammonia a pretty penny with some reports suggesting he spent upwards of $60 million.

Extreme Sports
Billionaires are also famous for being adrenaline junkies. Google's co-founder Sergey Brin is known to split his time between trying out the flying trapeze and skydiving. Talking about living for the adventure, we have to say that skydiving isn't really cheap. The gear and certification alone would easily cost $20.000 and for each jump $2.000. People like Sergey are known to run out the whole plane when they go skydiving. We have to say whatever billionaires do, they do it with style! Golf and tennis are also sports that billionaires enjoy playing. They are prepared to pay huge sums for it. We know, certainly, that spending 250.000 dollars in country club fees is nothing to these gentlemen.

Scavenging for spaceships
Let's come back to Amazon's mogul Jeff Bezos, who surely knows how to burn cash. Bezos's hobby is searching the oceans for submerged NASA rockets. That's when he wasn't jetting off to space, of course. Getting on this spaceship scavenger hunt isn't exactly cheap either. A single mission alone requires more than $1 million. That's before we factor in the daily operating costs of a massive ocean liner, plus the salaries of the research team. Not to mention what costs with all of the state-of-the-art equipment needed to pull out spaceship from the bottom of the sea. Bezos has definitely put all fancy equipment to good use - to find the remains of the Saturn V and the gigantic chambers that were used during the Apollo 11 space mission.

Hunting
Guess who is the next champion of 'Hunter Games'. Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is famous for going on full-scale hunting expeditions. When he was asked why he does it, he said "It sharpens my focus." His most recent trip was to Hawaii to hunt wild boar. Hunting these wild animals is actually legal because they are an invasive species that harm the indigenous plant life of Hawaii. These bores are also just a general burden to the locals, too. Zuckerberg is, pretty much, doing a public and environmental service by getting rid of these feral hogs. For us, it looks like we have something else to thank him, besides Facebook.

Dietrich Mateschitz, the co-founder of Red Bull, certainly knows how to spend his billions. Dietrich purchased his very own Island paradise in Fiji. Zuckerberg actually, too, owns land in Hawaii, complete with stretches of his very own white sandy beaches. Billionaire Larry Ellison isn't far behind either. He actually spends millions to own the entirety of the Hawaiian island Lanai.

Collecting exotic paintings
This is definitely a billionaire's hobby. Record's company CEO David Geffen is famous for being a passionate collector. The amount of $2.3 he spends on each painting would probably be enough to cover the educational budget of some countries. Geffen knows how to make money through his hobby, as a true businessman. In 2006 he sold Jackson Pollock's 5, 1948 painting for an enormous $140 million. and Willem de Kooning's woman III for 137.5 million dollars.

Car collecting
Guess who is the number one for collecting supercars. It is no one else that Elon Musk, Tesla's top man. His car collection is absolutely insane. He even has an actual Submarine one worth almost one million dollars. Let's not forget this is no ordinary submarine car. More about his car collection and his lifestyle, you can read here. Elon Musk doesn't just collect beautiful cars, he drives them, too! Not so perfectly. He once smashed up a 1 million McLaren f1 in an absolute heart-thumping hell for the leather ride.
