What Are The Lessons We Learned From Rachel Green

Rachel Green's character is experiencing a real transformation from the first to the tenth season, and in this way, Rachel is learning many life lessons that are an integral part of our everyday lives.

Change is hard but it pays off

We meet Rachel as she prepares to leave her comfortable suburban life, and she discovers, for the first time in her life, what it is like to live without parent's credit cars, a day spent with just buying clothes, learning to wash her clothes, and living an adult life.
Even though she was surrounded by luxury, she was not truly happy. Everything she accomplished would not have been possible if she had not trusted her instincts and listened to herself. Growth does not happen in the comfort zone.

Don’t compare your life to someone else’s

Rachel struggles to understand how different her new life is from the lives of her wealthy friends in the first season. She realizes that she has people around her with whose help she will stand on her feet and find her way. Never compare yourself to others because everyone has their timeline. You have no idea what is going on in the lives of others.

Ask for help from family and friends when you need it

Only when we face the most difficult life changes such as losing a job, illness, breakup, divorce, or the death of a loved one, we truly realize what the people around us are like. Her friends, especially Monica, gave her a place to stay while she began her new chapter. She was always there for Monica, both when she was dating Richard and when she met the love of her life. Having people we can rely on is very important in every person’s life. You can always create your own family.

Give yourself a time

Rachel had no idea what was coming after she ran out of her wedding. She didn't know what to expect, or even which way she wanted to go. Still, with the help of people close to her, she slowly began to realize her situation. She gave herself some time to enjoy life before entering into a new chapter in her life. She did not think that she would have to make coffee in her first "fashion" job. Exactly that job enabled her to meet Mark, who helped her with her further career. It's alright to take your time, even though she was impatient at some times, just like the rest of us. You don’t have to immediately figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life. It's okay to change your mind, and start a new path in your thirties, forties, fifties …

Mistakes and risks are a part of life
Many of Rachel's mistakes are comical to viewers, but they are part of her life.

When everything goes wrong, you'll be rewarded with something much greater.

Getting out of a relationship that you thought would end in marriage and starting a new life from scratch is a challenging task. However, it is not a cliche to say that the sun rises after the storm. That was the case with Rachel.
