What does Nobel laureate Bob Dylan like to watch and listen to?
The famous singer-songwriter and Nobel laureate Bob Dylan shared with the world his love for Eminem, the group Wu-Tang Clan, as well as the series "Twilight Zone" and "Coronation Street". In an interview, Dylan said that he likes to listen to anyone whose "vision is close to him", and in that context, he mentioned the rappers, because of their "feeling for words and language".
He previously admitted that he has been to a Metallica concert twice and that he loves The Oasis and "both brothers".When it comes to television, he is not so keen on modern programs, but he surprised many by mentioning one of Britain's longest-running soap operas, "Coronation Street", as one of his favorites.
"I watch shows like 'Coronation Street', 'Father Brown' and some earlier episodes of 'The Twilight Zone'. I know they're old-fashioned but they make me feel at home. I'm not a fan of the new ones. I never watch anything smelly or evil. Nothing disgusting," said Dylan.
The producer of the soap opera was delighted with Dylan's answers
"Coronation Street" is the longest-running soap opera in the world and follows the daily lives of working-class people in Manchester. The producer of that series, Ian McLeod, was delighted that Bob Dylan mentioned that program in his interview and he suggested in a statement to the British "Telegraph" that Dylan could also be a guest actor.
"I'd like Dylan to turn up at the Rovers Return (the show's pub) one night," said McLeod, who would cast Dylan as the mysterious singer.
"Both Bob Dylan and 'Coronation Street' began building their reputations in the 1960s, championing the voices and causes of the working class, telling stories with a special sensibility and sense of humor," McLeod added. The musician is promoting his new book "The Philosophy Of Modern Song".
