WHO IS THE BETTER ACTOR, Will Smith Or Denzel Washington?

Which actor, Denzel or Will, would you choose if you had to choose between the two?

We're fortunate to be alive at the same time as two of the greatest actors of all time. Denzel Washington of The Little Things and Will Smith of King Richard have both given us so many outstanding performances that it's difficult to know where to begin when discussing their respective careers.

In that sense, it may seem unfair to compare them, yet the Internet will do just that. A recent dispute on Twitter regarding who is the better actor has erupted, and according to Twitter users, it isn't a debate.

Denzel Washington and Will Smith had some of their greatest performances in recent years. Will Smith's performance in King Richard, a historical film about Serena and Venus Williams' father, has lately earned praise. A Twitter user made a bold question to his followers shortly after the film's release.

The argument itself may be contentious. After all, both performers' careers have taken quite different paths.

Will Smith began his career as a hip-hop musician before transitioning into acting as a comedy star before becoming a blockbuster star.

Denzel Washington began his career in theater, then moved on to television, where he landed his big break while building the groundwork for a successful film career.

Despite their differences, Twitter users had little trouble deciding who they thought was the more legendary of the two actors.

Let's take a step back and consider why Denzel is Denzel: he's given us some of the most powerful performances we've ever seen on television. He had nine Academy Award nominations and two wins, for Best Supporting Actor in Glory and Best Actor in the murder thriller Training Day. He's the sort of actor who can be equally believable as a football coach as he is as Shakespeare, which is something that only a few performers can say.

Smith had two Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, one for Ali and the other for The Pursuit of Happyness, so his professional achievements are nothing to laugh at. He's also had nine Grammy nominations and three wins, demonstrating the breadth of his appeal.

Given that neither Denzel Washington nor Will Smith appears to be slowing down anytime soon, future collaboration between the two actors isn't out of the question.
Both stars have more surprises for us. Will Smith will participate in Antoine Fuqua's Emancipation and Denzel Washington will star in Joel Coen's The Tragedy of Macbeth.
