Acting couples who didn't like each other
Maybe no one would say it thanks to their acting, but you'd be surprised which couples barely managed to stay together on set.
For actors, a role in a movie or series can mean working for months with people they don't really like or can't stand. Each of us at work has at least one person we don’t like, but with actors, it's a little different, especially if they have to involve close physical contact.
Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey
The chemistry between Baby and her dance instructor Johnny was maybe a little different than we saw in "Dirty Dancing". Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey first met on the set of the action movie "Red Dawn" as teenagers. Reportedly, Jennifer wasn't a fan of Patrick because she didn't like the way he was bossy with everyone around. A few years later, when she was offered the role in "Dirty Dancing", it required auditions with different actors, one of whom was Swayze. Because of this, she almost gave up on the audition.
Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman
As it happens, the tension on the set of "Kramer vs. Kramer" was very high between Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman. One particular incident involved a scene where Hoffman had to slap a co-star. Although it was supposed to be fake, it seems that the actor got a little carried away, and Meryl herself said in an interview that he crossed the line. It was also said that Hoffman often mocked Streep in order to anger her and get the performance he wanted from her.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall
Perhaps one of the most famous quarrels in recent times is the one between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall - Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones from Sex and the City. The situation heated up when Cattrall appeared on the Piers Morgan show in 2017 and said that she would not agree to film the third part of "Sex and the City" because of her "toxic relationship" with Sarah Jessica. Sarah Jessica stated that she was "heartbroken" by how Kim remembered their shoot, as she had a very different experience.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams
Although Ryan and Rachel's chemistry in "The Notebook" was spectacular, and later transferred to the relationship in real life, at the beginning of the shooting, this couple of actors could not stand each other. In fact, the situation was so bad that Ryan asked the director to try another actress.
“Maybe I shouldn't say this, but one day on the set they didn't really get along. It was really bad. Ryan came to me, 150 people were standing on a big stage, and he calls me and says, 'Would you get another actress to read in front of the camera with me? I can't, I can't with her. I'm just not getting any of this.'" - said the director, then added:
“We entered the room with the producer, everyone started shouting at each other. I went out to smoke a cigarette, and at one point they came out and said "Okay, let's go to work!" Then everything changed. I think Ryan respected that she was defending her character, and Rachel was happy that the issue was finally brought to light. The rest of the shoot didn't go smoothly, but it was easier.”
