Actress Alicia Vikander spoke for the first time about the miscarriage she experienced a few years ago. The star of the movie "Tomb Raider" says that she is overjoyed to have a child last year, but that she went through a long and thorny road to the offspring...
“The miscarriage was so extreme, painful and, of course, it made me remember the filming of the movie 'The Light Between Oceans'. The film now has a different meaning” - she says, recalling the 2016 film, in which she and her husband Michael Fassbender play a childless couple who adopt a little girl lost at sea.
“Sometimes you go through things that are difficult in life and if you have an office job, you can get away a bit. But once I or my colleagues went through something I can't understand how they went to the red carpet after that. They met people who would ask how they were doing, regardless of what they had just been through. Most people in their place would not be able to leave their house” - the actress told The Times.
Alicia also previously revealed that she had been trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant for some time and that she struggled with it during the coronavirus pandemic.

“For a while, I thought I couldn't get pregnant...” - reveals the actress who decided to speak publicly about her problems in the hope of helping women who are going through similar experiences.
“I stopped and thought, 'Am I going to talk about this?' I think it's universal and a lot of women go through similar things. And it's hard” - concludes the actress.
By the way, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender got married in 2017, after three years of dating, and they met on the set of the movie 'The Light Between Oceans'. Despite avoiding talking publicly about their child, the Oscar winner opened up about motherhood in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, saying she always puts her little family first.
“In my small family, which consists of my husband and child, we always travel together. That's the rule. We work so that one of us can always be with the baby”- she said then.
