An amazing homemade strawberry jam

We love them fresh, in cakes, ice cream, smoothies, and juice, but we also love the jam from them! This fruit is simply irresistible in all its variants.

Is there anything sweeter than a piece of bread with jam? Or, better yet, pancakes stuffed with strawberry jam. We are sure you will agree with us that this is a combination that is welcome at any time of the day. Of course, it doesn't matter which jam it's a question - we always prefer the homemade one to the one we buy. As the strawberry season is in full swing, you have the opportunity to make jam yourself, according to a recipe that will not take too much of your time, but also because of which you will surely get the title of the best modern housewife.

Ingredients (for 500 g of jam):

  • 1 kg of strawberries
  • 500 g of sugar
  • Juice of one lemon

Preparation:

After cleaning the strawberries from the stalks, cut them in half, then put them in a wide pot, which you know does not burn the bottom.  Then sprinkle the strawberries with sugar, and let them stand for 30 minutes to release the juice. You can even do all this in the evening, so leave the strawberries to stand overnight - the longer the better. Now you move on to the cooking process. Squeeze the strawberries lightly, then turn on the hob to the highest, until the mixture boils. Then reduce to a moderate temperature, and let the jam simmer for about an hour.

An important note - the mixture foams all the time, and it is necessary to remove this foam in continuity with a spoon. In fact, when it stops foaming, it means your jam is done. Remove from the heat, then add the lemon juice and mix gently. Now move on to filling the jars. The jars should be preheated in the oven to 100 degrees so that you can pour the hot jam into them. Close them, turn them upside down for an hour to create a vacuum, and allow them to cool. When they have cooled completely, put them in a cooler and darker place, where you store them.
