Remove stress from your life!

Stress has long been commonplace and we are all, more or less, susceptible to it, so we often feel like we are at the point of breaking down. To prevent this from really happening, let's look at what we can do to instantly feel rested, calm and satisfied.

Listening sad songs

Sounds absurd, we know. However, research shows that listening to sad music encourages imagination, and regulates emotions and empathy. Among the participants in the research, listening to sad songs caused nostalgia, but also satisfaction, instead of negative emotions, as might be expected. It seems that the usual desire to listen to sad songs when we are already sad is not meaningless.

Thumb savior

Believe it or not, one of our fingers has soothing superpowers, and that is - the thumb. Doctors say that simply blowing into the thumb can calm the heartbeat and deepen breathing. Also, tapping on this finger, or lightly pressing the nail root, helps to alleviate anxiety. As you can see, we always have an anti-stress solution at hand, literally.

Dirt on the ground

Gardening and caring for plants relax. It has to do with the sunlight we are exposed to and the fact that we connect with nature and create something beautiful. In addition to these reasons, a recent study revealed another: there is a type of friendly bacteria that live in the soil, and they force our brain to produce serotonin.

Lying on the floor and rolling a tennis ball

Ancient medicine, but also modern scientific research, says that pressure points on our feet can affect different parts of the body, and also help to relieve anxiety and stress. To massage them effectively, you can use a foam roller or, if you don't have one, a tennis ball. While you are lying on the floor, roll the ball with your feet.

Squeezing and releasing the right hand

When we are under stress, the right part of the brain is activated, because its function is to control emotions. In order to balance everything, it is necessary to make the left side of the brain work (it is connected with verbal functions and logic). Since the right part of our body is more in contact with the left part of the brain, squeezing and releasing the right fist is a real trick for relaxation and balance.
