Apple prepares a replacement for its original HomePod
Following a fairly complete first half of the year with the WWDC 2022 announcements, and despite having begun to set its sights (pun intended) on its VR device for 2023, it appears that Apple still has some plans in mind for the rest of the current year, with what promises to be a "constant stream" of new products.
Aside from some surprises and announcements, we may expect an upgrade to some of the company's current products, including the iPhone 14, four new Mac models, and AirPods Pro update, and other devices.
However, as Bloomberg has pointed out, one of the great novelties will come in the form of a new HomePod speaker that will look and sound similar to the 2018 model, but with some improvements such as the presence of Apple's next S8 chip and a screen with multi-touch functionality on top of the speaker.
As a result, this new device would not only be an update to the original version but would also mark a major leap above the most recent devices released, with a HomePod Mini equipped with an S5 chip.
Apple's aspirations, on the other hand, will go beyond functionality. And, according to this leak, the Cupertino company intends to set the price of the speaker at a substantially lower price range than that of its original form.
A task that will be made easier by the fact that the HomePod was one of the most costly smart speakers available at the time.
And, while we do not yet know the final pricing, the fact that we have this wonderful update and confirmation of a price cut has already put us in front of a more appealing gadget that is priced appropriately.
What will the next Apple TV look like
Regardless, speculations of a new generation of Apple TV haven't ceased, and they point to an intriguing redesign that, if confirmed, would arrive somewhere in the second part of this year.
As a result, we believe it is worthwhile to revisit the rumors that have been most prevalent in recent months and that, taken as a whole, suggest a new generation of Apple TV. Of course, as is customary when discussing rumors, we must proceed with caution.
