Ashley Judd: "Healing with David Kessler"
The actress was raped three times, and once she even got pregnant
Actress Ashley Judd had a very traumatic experience as a young woman. Namely, in 1999, a man raped her, but he was not the only one, after that she went through the same hell twice more, and she shared her life story with the whole world.
On the "Healing with David Kessler" podcast on Tuesday, she said she found the strength to meet her rapist wanting to "hear his side of the story."
Despite the great tension and worry, the conversation had a happy ending, and Ashley and the rapist "ended up in rocking chairs sitting together by the creek." The actress emphasized that this man told her that he repented, which was very important to her.
“I wanted to share that story because there are many ways to heal from grief and it's important to remind listeners” - Ashley said.

She spoke about rape for the first time in 2011 in her book "All that is bitter and sweet", and later publicly thanked her therapist who helped her deal with the barriers and problems she was going through.
“Nine years after my recovery, I can go further and say that my "story" is not "my story". It is something that a Higher Power (spirituality has been vital to this healing for me) is using to allow me the grace and privilege to help others who are still hurting and perhaps offer some education, awareness, and action to our world” - she wrote at the time in an essay for Mic.com.
To make the story even more incredible, the actress admitted that even after one rape, she became pregnant.
“The rapist, who is from Kentucky, like me, has paternity rights in Kentucky and Tennessee. I would have to be a parent together with my rapist” - Judd explained at the time and said how grateful she was that she was able to have a legal and safe abortion then.
