Asus Geforce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition

An Asus Geforce RTX 3080 TUF is already regarded as a reliable and quiet graphics card for gamers. Asus appears to be expanding its collaboration with Noctua and is planning to release a Geforce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition in the near future, which might be the quietest air-cooled RTX 3080. Read on for more information.

The Geforce RTX 3070 from Nvidia is a fast graphics card that can play most games at high frame rates and acceptable detail levels. The GA104 GPU, in conjunction with 8 GiB GDDR6 RAM, is also highly efficient, and the Geforce RTX 3070 consumes approximately 220 watts without user intervention. In light of this, it's surprising that Asus and Noctua chose this SKU for their first collaboration and outfitted it with a large quad-slot cooler and two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans.

With a power consumption of over 300 watts, the larger Ampere graphics cards based on the GA102 GPU are no slouches and could benefit even more from a strong cooling solution than a Geforce RTX 3070. As a result, Asus has released a Geforce RTX 3080 with Noctua's cooling solution. It has 10 GiB of graphics RAM and is thus the smallest extension of the GA102.

Two 120 mm fans are employed, as on the Geforce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, and the cooler appears to be a 4-slot solution. However, the heatsinks and backplate must be modified to accommodate the larger GPU. The RTX 3080 Noctua Edition comes with two 8-pin power connectors, three DP 1.4 ports, and two HDMI 2.1 interfaces.

The board design hints that the Noctua edition has the same board design as the RTX 3080 TUF. Asus has not yet published any additional information, and the RTX 3080 Noctua Edition is not yet featured in our pricing comparison, but based on preliminary information, it should be available for purchase starting at $1,150.
