Bottega Veneta: re-release of amazing archival pieces
Instead of encouraging people to constantly look for and buy new ones, Bottega Veneta decided to release models from past collections.
For the purpose of sustainability and encouraging the circulation of certain pieces, the well-known Italian brand Bottega Veneta has introduced the Bottega Series section on its website. What does that mean? In addition to the classic offer of novelties that can be found on the website of the house, this section will be reserved for old "classics", bags or designs from previous seasons and collections that customers liked but for some reason decided to skip.
But as it happens with bags, what we skip in the end turns out to be what we regret the most, so, in fact, this is great news for fans of this luxury Italian brand. Every month in the Bottega Series section we will watch new-old pieces and get the opportunity to choose our favorite again. Instead of encouraging people to constantly look for and buy new ones, Bottega Veneta decided to release models from past collections. In doing so, they meet sustainability, and at the same time remind us that their design is not a product of the moment, but a testimony of timeless fashion.
At the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen, Bottega Veneta announced changes for the purpose of sustainability, and one of the first decisions of the brand is this: to encourage people to make sustainable purchases, i.e. the purchase of archive pieces. The brand will also introduce a warranty, i.e. the ability to repair their bags, with a tendency to develop the habit of repairing rather than throwing torn objects.

"In a society that stimulates customers to increase consumption, our intention is based on the desire to extend the life of the product and to reduce the need to replace the same product. In this way, the pressure we exert on the environment will be reduced," said the CEO of Bottega, Leo Rongone. "Real luxury means time. It takes days, not hours, to make our product."
The bags published as part of the Bottega Series section are sold at the last price at which they were sold while they were part of the new collection, and the selection will change on a monthly basis. Currently in circulation are Cabat, Banana, and Tote bags that come in different colors and shades.
