Camilla Shares Heartfelt Message

Camilla is a supporter of several literacy organizations.

The Duchess of Cornwall sent a poignant greeting to honor World Book Day on Thursday.

Camilla, 74, who is a supporter of several literacy groups, wrote an essay in favor of the annual event for The Mirror this week.

"This World Book Day, please take your children and grandchildren to your nearest book shop to begin the discovery," the Duchess wrote.'I shake you cordially by the hand!' says Willy Wonka on his golden tickets. You've got a lot in store for you! Many amazing surprises await you!' He may have added, delights that can only be found within the covers of a book..."

Camilla complimented World Book Day for providing the joy of reading to youngsters for the past 25 years. She has five grandkids and five step-grandchildren of her own.

She reflected on her own childhood recollections, saying: "I recall the thrill I got as a youngster while selecting books to purchase with my pocket money... ... the satisfaction of knowing that these priceless volumes, gripped securely in my hands, belonged to me."

"When we read, we understand ourselves better, we understand others better, and we create lifelong friends," the Duchess said, emphasizing the significance of reading from an early age.

As worries rise that Russia is plotting a stronger offensive in the coming days, Charles and Camilla lighted a candle and placed floral tributes at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in London, acknowledging the hardship of the eastern European nation.

When senior members of the UK's Ukrainian community performed a melancholy rendition of Chervona Kalyna, Red Guelder Rose, to greet the newlyweds as they came into a cathedral hall, the Duchess was moved to tears.

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and wife of Prince Charles, told the BBC she was “honored to become queen.”

Queen Elizabeth has granted her approval for Duchess Camilla to be awarded the title of queen once Prince Charles becomes king, putting an end to years of debate and speculation over her destiny.

The Duchess stated that she intends to use her future position to advocate even more aggressively for women’s rights and to oppose domestic abuse and that she intends to do so for the rest of her life.
