Did you watch the horror thriller: " In the Forest"

We finally watched "In the Forest", an American backwoods survival horror thriller, a film we've been avoiding for a long time, but which isn't as bad as it sounds if you look at its IMDb rating. Well, the reviews on the mentioned site sometimes don't really reflect the true state of things, but maybe we are also fans of forest survival horror. 

"In the Forest" does not contain any surprises in its plot and begins the way fans of this subgenre expect: we watch a family that follows the path of the forest, during a family weekend. They travel in their RV (you know the truck with a bedroom and a kitchen). Then came the moment they will pitch a tent under the woods and near a stream and enjoy themselves next to the campfire. Grandfather, daughter and granddaughter are present, thus one multigenerational family, which is one of the more original details during the introduction. Another original or certainly welcome detail is that the film spends very little of its time on the histories of these characters and their family relationships, which we also welcome. Basically, they have a nice weekend ahead of them, or - they will never have a nice weekend. Immediately after parking the truck, but before raising the tent and throwing the hook into the stream, the arrogant owner of the land comes to them and orders them to leave his property immediately. They intend to do this, or due to unforeseen circumstances, they still stay in the same place. 

Things get even more complicated when they try to call for help, but the more they try to leave this location, the more they fall into problems and mortal danger. Our three heroes are of different ages or not of great intelligence, in which the mother takes the lead. Looking for help, she will poke her nose very deep into the privacy of the family on whose land she is, but when this becomes a kind of hunting, she will put both daughter and father in danger. In the very finale, some of the mysteries are revealed, or not all of them; a good part of what we were supposed to find out still remains shrouded in secrecy, which is certainly a big minus of the film.
