Emotional scenes from Monaco: Princess Charlene missed the first day of school for her six-year-old twins
Like many schoolchildren around the world, twins Jacques and Gabriella from Monaco returned to school at the beginning of the week, but they started this school year without their mother, Princess Charlene, who has been in her native South Africa for months due to health complications.
With the new school year, the twins from the Monegasque princely family also changed their educational institution. After attending a public primary school, they continue their education in a private Catholic school, the Institution François d'Assises-Nicolas Barré.
In the absence of their mother, Princess Charlene, who was re-hospitalized in her native South Africa in early September, Gabriella and Jacques came to their new school accompanied by their father, Prince Albert, and all were recorded by television cameras.
When the twins were escorted to the door of the new school by their father, they got in touch with their peers and classmates without too much difficulty, and like all attendees of this private Catholic school, Jacques and Gabriella arrived dressed in red and black with the school logo.
