Fiber optic router: Fritzbox 5590 Fiber
AVM is introducing the Fritzbox 5590 Fiber, a new router with a fiber optic connection capable of transmitting data at up to 10 Gbit/s.
Since 2019, the current Wi-Fi standard 802.11, often known as Wi-Fi 6, has been officially used in WLAN cards. To make use of the new standard, you will need not just the appropriate WLAN card on your PC, but also a compatible router.
Furthermore, the Wi-Fi 6E extension has been accessible from July 2021. You can now purchase the Fritzbox 5590 Fiber if you have a fiber-optic connection. The router is the quickest Fritzbox on the market, according to AVM.
Because the Fritzbox 5590 Fiber supports the fiber optic standards AON, GPON, and XGS-PON, it can be used for all fiber optic connections installed in Germany.
The 5590 Fiber features a 2.5 Gigabit LAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports Connections in addition to Wi-Fi 6 with 4x4 MU-MIMO antennas and data rates of up to 2,400 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz frequency band.
The fiber optic connection can transport data at up to 10 gigabits per second. Mesh technology is also included to extend the range of the WLAN. Instead of simply 64 unique connections, Wi-Fi 6 provides 1,960 units. This allows more people to connect to the same WiFi network while experiencing less latency.
In addition to these advantages, the new Fritzbox top model contains two USB 3.0 ports to which users may connect printers or external hard drives, among other things, in order to access them with different end devices throughout the network.
The Fritzbox 5590 Fiber will be available in retailers beginning in May for slightly less than 290 dollars.
