Firecuda 530 Star Wars Mandalorian Edition SSD

Seagate has launched a unique edition of its Firecuda 530 SSD, the Seagate Firecuda 530 Star Wars Mandalorian Edition, whose name implies that it is based on a Star Wars figure.

The design is inspired by " Beskar ", a tough metal used to manufacture Mandalorian armor, the warrior race of the planet Mandalore. It is capable of resisting missiles and stopping lightsabers, but its goal here will be quite different: to disperse heat from the SSD's components, which isn't a bad mission at all.

For the rest, it's still a Seagate FireCuda 530, which means we're talking about an SSD with an M.2 NVMe format seasoned with the PCI-Express 4.0 interface that, when combined with the company's validated Phison E18 controller and the most modern 3D TLC NAND memory chips on the market, achieves a sequential read speed of up to 7300 MB/s, a write speed of up to 6900 MB/s,

This is true at least for models with capacities of 4 and 2 TB. The 1TB model has a write speed of 6,000MB/s and a read IOPS of 800,000, while the 500GB has a write speed of 7,000/3,000MB/s and a random 400,000/700,000 IOPS.

The Seagate FireCuda 530's information is completed by the optional inclusion of an aluminum heatsink manufactured by EKWB; they have a useful life of 1.8 million hours of use and a guarantee of 5 years or up to 5100 TB of written data (what first come first served).

For the time being, neither the availability date nor the additional cost associated with having a design with Lucasfilm Intellectual Property in comparison to the original variant has been specified, but we have already found one of these SSDs listed, that of the 1 TB variant for 270 dollars, 90 dollars more than the original model, so you have to be a fan to buy it.

Electronic Arts prepare 3 new Star Wars games

Electronic Arts have announced that they would produce three games based on the Star Wars world in the future, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and Respawn Entertainment.

The first will be an adventure game, the second a shooter, and the third a strategy game, so there will be something for everyone. In terms of prospective release dates, the three titles have only recently begun development, so there are still a good few years ahead.

Respawn Entertainment, well known for its efforts on Apex Legends, Titanfall, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is in charge of these new projects' development and production. Vince Zampella, Respawn's Founder and Group General Manager, will supervise this next phase of EA's collaboration with Lucasfilm, drawing on Respawn's award-winning history of game development and his experience producing captivating Star Wars stories.

Work has already started on all three projects, and Respawn is looking for talent to join the teams.
