What they all have in common is a list of foods that we have to avoid as much as possible because they don't do our body any good. A nutritionist from Harvard has prepared a study that describes in detail the foods that harm our memory. According to experts, "intestinal bacteria can trigger metabolic processes and brain inflammation that affect the memory". These are foods whose consumption we must reduce if we want to take care of our brain health.

Added sugars

Experts do not recommend consuming unhealthy processed foods such as pastries and soft drinks, which are often loaded with refined and added sugars. It accelerates the entire aging process, including the brain.

Fried food

A diet high in fried foods has been linked to poor concentration in several studies. In addition, it is responsible for the high rate of obesity in many countries. If you eat fried food every day, try to limit yourself to once a week. If it's a weekly habit, try to reduce it to once a month.

Excess carbohydrates

It is true that carbohydrates are necessary for a balanced diet because of the energy they give us, but you need to know how to choose them. They are divided into three: those with a high, medium, and low glycemic index, and we must give priority to those with a low one. That would mean green leafy vegetables, legumes, fruits... And avoid, as much as possible, foods such as potatoes, white rice, white bread...


Many studies link excessive alcohol use with an increased risk of dementia. Consuming up to 14 glasses of alcohol per week increases this risk exponentially, according to a report in the British Medical Journal.
