How to make a mask from banana peel - great for dark circles

Terri Mlotek says her swollen eyelids are soothed every time by a banana peel eye mask. For her, it’s a valuable recipe for a clean, radiant complexion.

You can find banana extract in many eye creams, mainly due to the large content of potassium in the fruit. Potassium can help hydrate and prevent fluid retention in the skin - which is great for reducing puffiness and bags.

In terms of soothing dark circles, bananas also boast vitamins C, E, B, and A, antioxidants that can neutralize free radicals and brighten the skin.

The study confirmed that most of these properties are actually concentrated in the peel. In addition to Terri, dermatologist Dr. Mamina Turegano also claims that using banana peel mask provides a youthful glow.

Here's how to make your own mask:

For starters, you can always just rub a mashed banana under your eyes. It is a real natural remedy for swollen dark circles.

Scrape the white fibers from the inside of the peel. Do this with a spoon. Mix the fibers you have removed with aloe vera (if you do not have aloe vera, use your favorite moisturizer). Mix everything together and apply gently under the eyes. Leave for about five to 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

No matter which recipe you choose, it is recommended to use organic bananas, if possible, because you do not want to smear potentially irritating pesticides on the skin, writes Mind Body Green.
