Jamie Lee Curtis slammed plastic surgery: ‘I tried it and it didn’t help me. Because of it, I got addicted to pills'

Legendary American actress  Jamie Lee Curtis has gained many fans back in the old days. Thanks to her roles in the legendary pop films "A Fish Called Wanda" or the cult franchise "Halloween", she cemented her status as a Hollywood star. And as someone who has been at the very top for so long, she has witnessed all sorts of trends, and the one that is certainly the most visible to all - is that of plastic surgery.

Jamie commented on contemporary trends and those of cosmetic surgery but also filters on social media. “Today’s trend of fillers, surgery, and obsession with image filtering, everything we do to customize our look on Zoom, simply erases generations and generations of beauty,” the actress told Fast Company. “Once you do something to your face, you can’t fix it,” she pointed out.

In addition, the actress gave her advice on the use of social networks, but she strictly does what she needs on them. "I use social media to sell something and highlight what's important to me. That's it. Everything else is toxic, I never read a single comment," Lee Curtis explains. Then she explained why she was doing it.

"It's also very dangerous. It's like giving a chainsaw to a small child. We just don't know the long-term effects, mental, spiritual, and physical, on generations of young people going through social media agony - comparing themselves to others. All of us who are enough old know it's a lie. The real danger lies for young people, " the actress explained.

She speaks from her own experience

The actress does not say all this in vain, she herself had experienced - apart from the obvious influence of social networks -  but the influence of aesthetic corrections, which she spoke openly about. "I tried plastic surgery and it didn't help me. It made me addicted to Vicodin. I've been clean for 22 years now," Jamie said honestly.

This is not the first time the actress has opened up about her addiction, she said she was addicted to both pills and alcohol. She started taking the pills just after the surgery she underwent after one cameraman commented that she had ‘puffy eyes’ on the set.

"Naturally I have swollen eyes. If you look at my childhood photos, I look like I haven't slept. I've always been like that. We filmed the scene in the courtroom, with the fluorescent lighting set high. I stepped on the set and the cameraman said, 'I'm not filming is today. Her eyes are too puffy '. I was terrified and so ashamed that after the filming I went to a routine operation to remove the eye bags, " she said.
